I cannot get enough of this music...
Dan in Real Life soundtrack.
I actually have listened to this so much that I am currently taking a break from it. If you haven't seen the movie yet, go watch it and then buy the soundtrack.
Sondre Lerche. So good.
Christy heard Yael Naim play at the House of Blues, and brought the cd home. Yael Naim is from Israel, has lived in Paris, and sings in Hebrew, French and English= my kind of girl. You may have heard her song "New Soul" on the Ipod commercial.
Grant-Lee Phillips, Virginia Creeper.
I'm really digging this cd and Grant-Lee Phillips' vocals and guitar. (He's the troubador on Gilmore Girls.) Worth buying just for the first song, "Mona Lisa."
She and Him, Volume One.
Zooey Deschanel (Elf, Failure to Launch, Yes Man, etc.) is my new favorite person who I haven't actually met. She was inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Gershwin, and Nina Simone, and got together with M. Ward to record this album.
After a few years of watching clips of her singing on YouTube, I feel a little less lame being a fan now that she actually has an album out.

Yay! I get to leave the first comment on your blog.
This is an old post, but I have things to say, so I hope you have that "post-alert" function turned on :)
1st - LOVE Dan in Real Life. Was probably one of my favourite movies of 2008. I also got the soundtrack and listened to it excessively. Also not on the soundtrack but wonderful is the original "let my love open the door" - listened to that SO many times post-movie it was ridicilous.
2nd - Zoe, I joke with Matt that she is his "celebrity crush" but I think she might be mine. Man, do I like her. He bought her album, and we listened to it all the way to Oregon - lovely. You should see "Yes Man" just for her, because it might be a ridicolous movie, but she is wonderful in it.
Oh Jenny - I think I might have to start saving my pennies for Chicago. I miss you guys.
